Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and Megun Community for using this platform. The community rules say how neighbours treat each other here; these terms say what the service is, what you agree to by using it, and where each side stands. They are written to be read.
What this service is
Megun Community is a civic platform for the residents of Megun Ward, run by the community body described in the privacy notice, with MySpace MyVibe LLC operating the software and servers on its behalf.
The platform is currently an invitation-only preview for adults. Features may change, and the service may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance or repair. We tell you about significant changes in the platform itself.
Your account
You must be 18 or older, and you join under your real name, as the community rules require. One person, one account.
Keep your password to yourself. What is posted from your account is your responsibility, so if you believe someone else has used it, change the password and write to support@megun.community straight away.
Your content
What you post remains yours. By posting it you give the platform permission to store it and show it to the community, which is what the platform is for. You can delete your own posts and photos, and you can close your account and take your data with you — the privacy notice explains how.
Content that breaks the community rules can be taken down by the community team, and the decision is recorded where you can see it. Repeatedly breaking the rules can lead to suspension.
The market
The market is for neighbours exchanging goods and help. Megun Community handles no money, takes no commission and is not a party to any exchange — an agreement you make with a neighbour is between the two of you. Meet in a public place, and never send money or airtime in advance.
Suspension, and leaving
The community team can suspend an account for breaking the community rules. A suspension is recorded, and you can ask for it to be looked at again by writing to support@megun.community.
You can leave at any time by closing your account.
What we do not promise
The platform is provided as it is, as a community service, without a promise that it will always be available or free of faults. To the extent Kenyan law allows, the community body and the operator are not liable for losses arising from using or relying on the platform. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Kenya. If something goes wrong, write to support@megun.community first — most things are fixable by talking. What cannot be resolved that way belongs to the courts of Kenya.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, this page and the date at the top change with them, and significant changes are announced in the platform. These terms have not yet had formal legal review; we say so rather than imply otherwise.
